Pirates!

i once desired to be a pirate.
rescuing damsels, plundering houses;
they should be happy, we'd take care of their louses.
i'd find myself a dandy crew,
and we'd swashbuckle our way out past jaru.
we'd find ourselves a pig to roast.
yelling and jeering as muffins we toast.
stealing kids' candy, sipping on brandy,
as i've already said, my crew'd be quite dandy.
we'd fill us a ship so giant and grand,
by comparison ashtan's navy would seem a petty band
of serpents and thieves, of apostates and priests
(you know, the sort that don't use devotion).
we'd continue to plunder, causing commotion,
and gain us a name, so valient and grand,
perhaps we could even commandeer a band:
a musical band! complete with director,
perform us chorales and bring us some nectar.
wipe off our sweat with a freshly washed towel.
bring me a paintbrush, a canvas and trowel!
i wish to paint the scenery at sea.
for those poor little savages, stuck on the land.
their houses all plundered, and minus one band
so that perhaps they too can see,
the beauty of our life at sea.

Penned by my hand on the 22nd of Sarapin, in the year 506 AF.
