A Guardian's Path

Defender of Light,
Protector of Weak,
To uphold these vows,
The young Guardian seeks.
Drawing his blade,
Holding it tight,
He walks a path,
One in the Light.
From the masters he learned,
Chivalry and Devotion.
His sense to do right,
Exceeds every notion.
Learning new skills,
Aspiring to be great,
He becomes a Paladin,
Rejecting fear and hate.
A call for help heard,
Off in the night.
He prays for inspiration,
And prepares for a fight.
As the villagers watch,
The sound of steel rings clear,
Marching north,
Showing no fear.
Onward he searches,
Locating the call,
Three shadows stand lurking,
He destroys them all.
Saving a woman,
Her eyes shining bright,
She gives him a kiss,
"Oh, thank you brave Knight!"
Putting fingers to mouth,
He sounds a shrill blast,
Coming from the south,
His warhorse runs fast.
Mounting his beast,
With one mighty stride,
A sense of accomplishment,
Fills him with pride.
Returning home,
He greets everyone with cheer,
All gather 'round,
Wanting to hear.
After recounting his tale,
And thanking the Light,
He has bested the shadows,
And proven his might.
The journey now ended,
For our brave, young Knight.
May he conquer many more,
As a Guardian of Light.
Penned by my hand on the 1st of Glacian, in the year 494 AF.
