The Ballad of Lyaeus
Written By Madelyne Ech'lir

I am quite a humble bard. In every village inn I play.
I sing and I tell stories, and sell wares to those who'll pay.

I can sing a drinking song by Pylades, my Satyr mate,
Or an epic tale by Greyda, if you don't mind staying late.

I can sell you melodious wares, or gossip about the Crown,
And every village housewife smiles when she hears I'm in town.

A true bard never settles, but keeps a girl in every port.
Then, no matter where the road leads, he has a feminine consort.

With gentle, practiced flattery, I charm each fair maid's heart.
Why as much as the most Bardic tale, seduction is an art.

The villagers are kind and rush to help this poor troubadour.
Why every woman I've ever left begs me to come back for more!

Next time you're in the village, do stop and see the show -
Especially if you have your lovely lady friend in tow.

Penned by my hand on the 2nd of Ero, in the year 471 AF.
