A Merchant's Day
Written by: Crown Observer Tomi Darkholme
Date: Wednesday, January 9th, 2008
Addressed to: Everyone
First we wake up and count our gold
Each piece by itself until we get old
Then we place each carefully in our packs
Heading off to spend some on morning snacks
Then our afternoon is spent working
Expanding our shops and not shirking
Whichever jobs pertain to us
Always seeking reward without a fuss
The back to our food stalls to fill our hungers
We all need food even us mongers
But then it's back to stocking and sorting
Buying, selling, haggling, and importing
And when finally the day comes to an end
We've made a little coin to spend
Somber and sober we head to the bars
To laugh and talk under the stars
Penned by my hand on the 5th of Chronos, in the year 469 AF.
