To know Love

Written by: Bard of Light and Shadow, Corwin al'Dejan-Wildfang

When I was young
I knew not love
Childhood friendships formed and broken
As ripples on a pond's edge.

In teenage years
I knew not love
Passion flared, burning hot and bright
Transient as sparks in the night sky.

Adulthood
And I thought I knew love
Like the fresh breeze of spring
Scenting all my days

As age greyed
Then I knew love
Two spirits, growing together
Becoming one in mind and body

Now as the earth begins to beckon
I truly know love
The familiar voice, the touch of your hand
And I am content.

Penned by my hand on the 13th of Daedalan, in the year 461 AF.
