Our Father

The wine-dark sea is like a loving father
Who nurtures all His children as they grow.
He feeds us with His bounty. He questions, so
That we will seek the answers. As we gather
Every grain of truth, we become wise.
He wraps us warmly in His azure waters
Like a blanket. We, His sons and daughters,
By our stalwart hearts are recognized.

Our father tames the beasts of the abyss.
Their corpses sizzle on the offering flames.
He guides our footsteps as we walk the Path.
His absence is our woe. His presence, bliss.
His voice, a thunderous roar as He proclaims!
May those above do well to fear His wrath.

Penned by my hand on the 13th of Glacian, in the year 459 AF.
