Oh lady fair, but grace my mind with thoughts that you would dare
Besmirch your reputati-on to seek your fate down here
With me, a lowly bard, a fool, whose birth's not noble sure
But who would love you for your love, and love no purse but yours.
Your lips, they twitch to hear my song, and I would swear to you
That would you love this simple man, I'd say, "I love you, too."
And when you sleep alone at night, my love, I do confess,
I'll wander far, not sleep with your enchanting hand mistress.
Your eyes, they shine, when you but turn your gaze out over me
With light that's generous enough to guide a ship from sea
So close them, love, and part those lips, oh, let me hear you sing
I'll hold your hands and listen rapt, won't steal your jeweled rings.
So please my love, let your hind parts leave that bejeweled cushion
For but a moment, hug me close, please don't leave me a-wishing
For your embrace, my lady-love, and please, mind, check your pockets
There's thieves about, and one's made off with your most precious
lockets.
