Life goes on?

He Said She Said

He said you confuse me.
And I didn't question why
He would say so to my face
when my cheeks had yet to dry.

He said but you amuse me.
As if his words were kind,
Like some compliment or other
that we try so hard to find.

I said I had it coming
And I turned right on my heel,
And the rain felt just like nothing
on my face, but it was real.

I said it didn't matter.
That I would go on as before,
Without a thought for romance
or the ardency he swore.

But then he said good riddance
As my boot touched on the track.
Though I said I wouldn't do it,
I came running back.

Penned by my hand on the 17th of Aeguary, in the year 426 AF.
