The heroes from Sea Lion Cove

They sailed forth from the Cove, time and again,
soaring across the seas,
hearing the innocent pleas.
Simmons was their captain then

A heroes life they led.
The pirates were their foe,
and with Simmons at the bow,
they filled them all with dread

Simmons often looked out over sea,
his treasured spyglass in his hand,
he knew he'd always take a stand,
to live that life so free

But then came that dreadful day,
The pirates came in numbers great.
The heroes faced the odds, shoulders straight.
Eventually their ship burned and was taken away

Many heroes died that day,
And most the survivors went away,
Without their fast ship, the Cove seemed grey
And in the end, none but Simmons did stay

Simmons lives in the lighthouse still
Looking out over the sea,
dreaming of that life so free,
dreaming of a life none could surpass
and dreaming of his now lost spyglass,
Stay in the Sea Lion Cove, forever he will

Penned by my hand on the 3rd of Glacian, in the year 417 AF.
