Hymn to the Moon

"Hymn to the Moon"

When darkness falls
Stealing away the soul of day
There at the crossroads the Lady stands
She who is Threefold yet One
Thrice-Holy and Thrice-Beloved
Hark! Hear the music of the stars
As Her steps descend onto the earth
Hark! Hear the nightingales sing
As Her lunar avatar rises in the skies

O chaste fair maiden!
Huntress of the twilit realms
May Your arrows fly ever true
May You find what you pursue
In the black wastes of the night

Where three roads meet
There She stands ever waiting
Mistress of the ocean tides and the night sky
Enrobed in glory, yet veiled in stygian shrouds
Her true treasure the mysteries kept unseen
Lo! Behold how She stands in light and dark
As Her light covers all in obsidian and ice
Lo! Behold the very earth rise to praise Her
As Her coming brings wonder to our realm

O gentle devoted heart!
Ardent lover and cherished mother
May Your eyes be ever open to love
May You bless the union of souls
Beneath Your radiant all-seeing light

While the stars fade
She alone remains in the dark
Ever the force that inspires and ensnares
For Her right hand holds the key to dreams
But in Her left hand lies two-edged paradox
Hail! Now She dons Her crown of stars
As Her magic once more enchants the realms
Hail! Now She claims her place in the sky
As the Trisagia shines in the heavens again

O wise dread queen!
Keeper of secrets darker than night
May Your enigmas remain unforgotten
May You ever watch over Your seekers
As we await Your presence in the skies.

Penned by my hand on the 18th of Scarlatan, in the year 415 AF.
