Autumn

"Autumn"

No season quite can seem so fair as fall
In golden glory, crowned with sunshine bright
Transformed and changed to beauty now is all
That lies beneath blue skies suffused with light.

Where came these leaves like shards of wondrous jewels
Of ruby fire and molten amber, made
Translucent by the glowing the sun that rules
Above this sunlit world that must soon fade.

For even twilight, lacking the sun's grace,
Yet still holds a secret magic of its own
The autumn moon may choose to show her face
And fill the darkness with her glow alone.

So lovely both in nighttime and in day
The splendor of fall ever holds sway.

Penned by my hand on the 8th of Mayan, in the year 413 AF.
