Lady of the Fountain

Lady sitting by the fountain
Feeding the creatures of the sky
Where does your mind wander
Does your spirit also fly?

Ignored by those that pass you by
Your only friends are those you feed
Companionship discovered within
A handful of breadcrumbs and seed.

I hear your call to me
Within a bower of feather
Caring for those little souls
Throughout the harshest weather

I hear the laughter of those
Who do not understand
The grace that can be found
Within a helping hand.

Little lady of the fountain
Claimed to be of simple mind
I wish that I might have
A friend so true and kind

Penned by my hand on the 12th of Daedalan, in the year 408 AF.
