They say that love is in the air.
I say it smells like rain.
The slate storm clouds that gather
Call me home again.
The lightning and the thunder
And the wind upon my face
Bring to mind a different storm,
My pulse begins to race.
Full, round drops like diamonds
Twinkle in the air
And fall around me, splashing;
And I, too dazed to care.
The water strikes my forehead,
Dribbles down my face.
The rain is wet upon my tongue
As I contemplate the taste.
I bathe my body, basking
In the sacramental rain.
Seeping into every pore
I am made whole again.
They say that love is in the air,
I say it's in the rain.
Penned by my hand on the 12th of Daedalan, in the year 398 AF.
