Waiting for Yudhishthira

In a move of shocking bravery or wanton stupidity (I leave that up to
you), I journeyed to Polyargos to seek the legendary dragon Yudhishthira
for a chat and to collect images for this song. I suppose I am lucky he
was out on another errand.

On the Isle of Polyargos
In the crystal Western sea
Above the oyster-littered beaches
In a cavern dwelleth He.

[Chorus] Mighty dragon,
Quell your anger
Still your hot and raging heart.
I have sought you,
Deadly stranger,
And I'll not quickly depart.

Climb the mountain to the summit
Let the cackling Harpies be.
Steel your senses 'gainst the filthy
Stench of impropriety.

Empty promises all they offer,
Gold without a lustrous gleam.
On to where the dragon waits!
Be he nightmare or wistful dream.

[Chorus]
Before the smoking fissure rises
Acrid steam that burns the lungs.
Great red dragon in magma slumbering,
The lullaby remains unsung.

Came I to this hell-pit seeking
For some bit of wisdom rare.
Gone is fiery Yudhishthira!
Till death I will await him here.

[Chorus] Mighty dragon,
Quell your anger
Still your hot and raging heart.
I have sought you,
Deadly stranger,
And I'll not quickly depart.

Penned by my hand on the 5th of Valnuary, in the year 394 AF.
