Poetry News Post #2544

For my daughter

Written by: Lady Greyda Corten, Huntress of Tides

I cannot choose the path for you - Though you may know what I would do

You've grown alone, my daughter, yes - And were I but to say what's best

That moment you would turn away - And into muddled past I'd fade

A name upon your bloodline, still - A stranger, so I never will

Press upon you words too wise - Lest I risk your shuttered eyes

Penned by my hand on the 22nd of Chronos, in the year 390 AF.
