I sit

Written by: Adherent of Light, Bwoomp Derhen-Weltsdown

Addressed to: Everyone

I sit
Strong shoulders strained
against the weight of the
World. Uncaring - oblivious to
the service I provide it.
Day in, Day out
weather stormy, weather calm
Used by those who would
tear me down
replace me with a younger version
People pass without a thought
their lives caught up
all-too-briefly
in my lines of history.
Passing over, under, through me
on their selfish way to
greater accomplishments
I am my position
Do not let my fate befall you
friend
Those who fill a place
receive no honour for their
steadfast trudgery
I am a bridge,
I should know

Penned by my hand on the 22nd of Scarlatan, in the year 385 AF.
