Sifting Sand
I'm a silent shadow
Of my former self
Sticking to the alleyways
So my eyes can see a brand new day
Wasted talents on a past I abhor
There's nothing I can do to change it anymore
(It sifts like sand)
What's in the past has to stay in the past
Can't believe that we are dragging this back
Leave me alone I don't need a hand
I'll slither away through time like sand
(Just slither through sand)
Top of the tower
To the base of the world
Manipulation, congratulations
You've hit rock bottom through your machinations
(They sift like sand)
Wasted talents on a past I abhor
The world is changing and I can't take it anymore
What's in the past has to stay in the past
Can't believe that we are dragging this back
Leave me alone I don't need a hand
I'll slither away through time like sand
(sand sand sand sand)
Sometimes the world just has to disagree
With the principles foundations on which we all do breed
Everything changes like it or not
Just like sand that falls through a knot
My past is staying where it belongs
A requiem to my life in a song
Leave it there because it speaks for itself
A testament to a life on the shelf
(hourglass sand.)

Penned by my hand on the 18th of Daedalan, in the year 381 AF.
