The Ballad of the Founding

Two centuries past in Hashan's breast,
Kharon blood spilt as the city looked in awe,
Ashtani suffered at Twilight's cruel behest,
The brave defenders fought alone, in a one-sided war
The rest only watched, as monks crumpled to the floor.
Courage unrewarded, they died a thankless death,
Trapped spirits caged by peace, some beat upon the door
The Dragon of the Ashura drew a long and fateful breath.

Skarash left gladly, his patience worn too thin,
While Zarathustra's city wept stony tears,
For Ashtan drowned, awash with selfish sin
Bastion of the North, raped by Ambition's spears,
Let Shallam prevail through internecine fears.
The returning Archon roared, wracked with despair,
But words of angry wisdom fell on foolish ears
The Dragon of the Ashura made ready to leave his lair.

Skarash laid the path, Tranquility followed suit,
Tracking his fellow's homecoming stride
Betrayed by Ashtan, he sought another route,
So in 267, with Skarash, Kindral and Aedessi by his side
Arose the Ashura, and Ashtan regained its pride.
On lands once Church and Kharon, a guild built anew -
There Unity, Strength and Courage now reside
The Dragon of the Ashura spread his wings and flew.

Penned by my hand on the 2nd of Chronos, in the year 380 AF.
