Sonnet

Written by: Neran'thos Oceanus, Greyda Wildfang-Op'Shae
Date: Wednesday, December 8th, 2004
Addressed to: Everyone

A casual touch erases every thought
He whispers, passes by, and my heart leaps
How simple might the truth be if he sought
The secret that I cannot help but keep

Untouchable, he lies just out of reach
When most I need them, words fall sour and flat
Impossible to have, in vain I seek
In dreams I'm closer, but how real is that?

He leaves once more, unknowing of my sin
A thirst denied instead to douse a flame
The song I sing is silent, held within
For that which I've no earthly right to claim

I will not cry to mourn what I've not lost
But banished it shall be, at any cost

Penned by my hand on the 12th of Sarapin, in the year 380 AF.
