Sunshine

I looked up once, into the sky
That shifted greens and blue
And noted sunshine, shining down
Onto the face of you.

I looked up once, into the night
That sparkled crystal sheer
And felt the hand of one so strong
Hold me so close that year.

I once looked up into Death's face
Masked, and hidden long
And when he went to touch your hand
I told him he was wrong.

He must have been mistaken
He couldn't really know
The truth behind your sheltered eyes
That only I could show.

So I told him, "Death, take me instead!"
And leave the other here..
And left this world, so you could live
And cry on salty tear.

Penned by my hand on the 20th of Daedalan, in the year 370 AF.
