(I realize how many people have posted poems to You, M'lord, and I feel
the need to add my voice to theirs. Behind the smiles lies something
deeper, the knowledge of how painful love can be. So, for you and Lady
Selene...my words.)

The world fell to pieces
As He glanced upon Her Face
All forgotten, in one moment's breath
The kiss of love, divine
Brought beauty to His life and poetry to His pen

Surety of a world, so grand
Two lovers lost in Love's captive grasp
New, wonderful, naive
Unspoken promises held within Their eyes
Building trust in every small caress

The offering of elegance and poetic beauty
Held in the pure white snow
With blossoms He made His sacred vow
And She, His muse, joyously accepted

With Her illness, falling
Hopeless into the abyss of Love denied
Saving Her at the cost of Himself
Bleeds evermore, His love, His soul
Torn

Self-sacrifice, the chosen gift of the Bard
To His Muse, to satisfy that cruel Fate
His vow lives on, carried in song and poem
A sacred promise that all remember

No love may be above the rest
Everyone for Her to love in equality
Or else to die for Him, unable to have Romance
Bound in the very essence that is She

Struggling to grasp the elusive Love
Only to be bled by its thorns
And tormented by its memories
Two lovers, now apart

Penned by my hand on the 6th of Sarapin, in the year 369 AF.
