A part of me was taken
Then quickly given back
Having to let go again
And always looking back

Never know what's coming next
So it's hard to look ahead
Treading as if on thin ice
Each step taken with more dread

You keep looking for a reason
To solve a problem with this anger
And it's nothing but an act
To intimidate a stranger

The calm we all once witnessed
Like the tension on the water
Has been broken now, forever
I don't know why I even bother

All of these conflicting feelings
I can't take up all this slack
I'm sorry that I've said some things
But I'll never take them back
