Good things in life, they never last
And happiness, it fades so fast
Replaced by burning, searing pain
Leaving us empty, without gain

Is happiness really worth its price
Leaving it all to the roll of the dice
Sooner or later all comes to an end
And we never know what's around the bend

We can say that we'll never let us feel the joy
That feelings are nothing but life's evil ploy
And yet our hearts still warm up to the light
And we all surrender, we give up the fight

So we can enjoy what we get for right now
And hope that someday, somewhere, and somehow
When it comes to an end and we are in tears
We'll remember the moments of joy and no fears
