Seven Truths

That love is blind, and pierces all disguise;
That love is skillful, joining hearts with grace;
That love is truth, despite sweet lovers' lies;
That love is constant, never changing pace;
That love's most cherished sight is lover's eyes;
That lack of love is cured by one embrace;
That greatest love is love that never dies.

Those seven truths faltered, one by one.
I said, "I love you still, but if this race is done,
Perhaps it can at least be said we had a joyful run."
She said, "Duanathar."
And now I stare into an empty sky,
And shade my eyes against the sun.

Penned by my hand on the 3rd of Daedalan, in the year 302 AF.
