waiting on the winds

-=*to a beloved, on whispers of a daydream*=-

at dawn
sunlight filters through
your curly locks
dark as midnight, yet
streaked with silver

you do not notice me
watching dreams slip
from your memory and
dance
across your rosy lips

how long should i wait
for you to love me?
scars lifted from deep-rooted
rivets of nothing but
time
yet someday they will

deep in the
recesses of my
aching heart, i watch
myself slip from between my
open fingers, only to realize i
need to see your smile -

i will wait forever
on silent wings of song
tossed about by tempests
until...

you awake from peaceful slumber
to find me
changed -
bloomed into the flower you call
love

Penned by my hand on the 19th of Aeguary, in the year 298 AF.
