Breaking Out

Written by: Sir Darryl of House Winterhart

Promises. Falsehoods spoken.
Lies told to keep me in this cage.
With very stroke with your paintbrush of lies,
You bind me. I can't move.

Lies. Every bit of you is lies.
To hold me in subjection,
Everything that frees me
Meets your utter rejection.

Venom. Your words are a poison.
All of them are lies.
With each thing you say
Another part of me dies.

Love. That's what you say.
But your brand of love is stale.
Every bite off your love
Only makes me hate myself.

Scars. My soul is full of them.
I show you what you've done.
You deny your responsiblity.
But every one, by you it was done.

Release. I seek to leave this place.
I'm setting myself free.
I'm cutting the strings and climbing down.
I won't let you hide me away. No more. Nevermore.

Penned by my hand on the 22nd of Mayan, in the year 297 AF.
