Shrouded in the depths of Memory, the hand of Undeath's King moved to claim Aeon's chain for himself in fulfilment of a bargain struck with the Gods.

In that moment of betrayal, the Prince of Woe's voice rang like acid and gravel as the coalescing memory of Bal'met faded into the lost mists before him. He roared towards his comrade as his claws dragged across the floor, pausing when Slith opened his gauntlet and revealed the Equilibrium Gem, affirming his duplicity and agreement with the Divine.

Rage. Anger. Fury. Fire.

Pazuzu flew forward on bat-like wings, his talons poised for carnage, as Slith tightened his grip like steel and shattered the relic of the Eldest Divine. In doing so, the curse of Daedalus was unleashed and Balance was struck over the plane of Memory. Fist clashed with claws as Woe and Undeath threw blow after blow at one another, each strike meeting the other with perfectly measured force. Neither could overpower the other under this aeons-old trap of forced Symmetry.

With a beating of wings to rival the crash of thunder, the Prince of Woe took to the skies, but Death's Demise would not allow him to flee. Invoking the arts of the Aldar, the Lord of Undeath cast the shimmering links of the Golden Chain skyward and bound Pazuzu to him. It was then, and only then, that the Pantheon fulfilled their end of Slith's bargain, sealing the memory of Shallam and all within it in Divine Fire.

"This is it, Pazuzu."

"You and I. Bound and banished together. Again."

-

In the wake of Slith's betrayal, the Divine cast Their gazes towards Sapience and descended into the Chapel of All Gods. Together, the Pantheon would rally the adventurers of Sapience to war and strike at Pazuzu's fortress in the memory of Shallam.

Summary: Fulfilling his agreement with Prospero, Slith betrayed Pazuzu and stole the Golden Chain. Shattering the Equilibrium Gem, the Lord of Undeath harnessed an aeons-old curse of Daedalus to weaken Pazuzu as the Divine trapped them both in the memory of Shallam. The Gods then arrived on Sapience to prepare Their armies for battle with Pazuzu when he breaks free of his confinement.

Penned by My hand on the 2nd of Miraman, in the year 925 AF.
