Little is more enticing to a nation than the arcane research of a talented sorcerer, the allure of magics to wield as sword or shield against your foe. Tatynne, the time-tested mage of Moghedu, knew this well and when her research hit an inevitable halt she sought out the leaders of all those who stood against Evil to offer a deal, and strike an accord. With her colleague, the venerable O'ising of the Conclave, she explained her studies to four city-states - and later a fifth.

Together the two of them had a working theory involving the four Elements and their effect on eidolic spirits. In order to test this, the Yriluawen shaman needed a living vodun doll of a Greater Eidolon. Worried about potential risks, Tatynne insisted that the effigy be fashioned from Mhaldorus, directing any potential side-effects onto the slavers that have long harvested her people.

Three cities vowed to rally forces against the Baelgrim Fortress, their promises reinforced by agreements not to wield any knowledge acquired from this against Moghedu for ten years. Cyrene, however, negotiated with the mage, pledging not the might of their army but complete non-aggression in the mhun halls for a quarter century. Half a month later, Targossas met and swore both the Dawnspear's legion and twenty-five years of amnity to venerable Moghedu.

On the 25th of Daedalan, 908 years after the fall of the Seleucarian Empire, the assault on fog-wreathed Baelgrim began. Dying screams rang across the Isle as Blackrock clerics and flail-wielding knights fell, the nearly-combined forces of Sapience carving a bloody path to escort O'ising towards the daemon he sought. But woe to those who underestimate the fortitude of Evil, and woe to those that siege His unholy fortress.

Mhaldor has been a lone bulwark upon Sapience for centuries, a burning ember that refuses to be stamped out. Nothing would change that day as the black-hearted soldiers of Evil rallied strong and rained hell upon their enemies. Roaring flame, twisted invocations, and fell magic engulfed the city, consecrating the streets with the blood of innumerable foes to slake a thirst the Isle had long hungered for.

Finally, after a nearly two day long assault, O'ising stood alone amid the broken corpses of his allies, and the Baelgrim showed no mercy.

Summary: Striking a deal for knowledge, several cities of Sapience raided the streets of Mhaldor together to acquire a vodun doll of Mhaldorus. After nearly two days, Mhaldor defended their fortress and slew the shaman O'ising ending the assault with a victory for Evil.

Penned by My hand on the 18th of Aeguary, in the year 908 AF.
