Occultists Rising

While it appeared to many that the Occultists must be devastated by the
loss of essence, such was not the case. For months, the Occultists had
been in secret performing a ritual to delve into the mysteries of their
own past. While only the occultists may truly know what secrets they
uncovered, there were rumours of the Burning Times, when Occultists did
not practice necromancy or tarot but other arcane arts. The Church,
finally becoming aware of the strange behavior of the Occultists, began
to delve into their own records of the Burning Times. How these two
factions will reconcile their histories of these murky times yet remains
to be seen.

What became obviously known, however, was that the Occultists began a
great ritual centuries ago, even before the times of the Selucarian
Empire. Some catastrophe happened and the ritual warped time and stole
the power of these forebears of the Occultists, some of whom turned to
Necromancy and Tarot, thus laying the foundation for the modern
Occultists.

But the ritual the present day Occultists performed created an anchor to
the ritual in the past, thus bridging the two times and completing the
Great Occult Work. After Sartan's conquest over Necromancy, the
Occultists rejected Evil and Necromancy and embraced their ancient
powers, now made complete.

Penned by my hand on the 16th of Sarapin, in the year 304 AF.
