Whispers Of Chaos

Amidst the most murky and ancient past of the Second Chaos wars, two thralls rose above the rest, their power, their ingenuity, and their cunning setting them apart from the fodder bred and served to the Infernal legions. The first of the meat to reach cognizance was Glaaki, the second thrall Golgotha.

Glaaki's worth was realised by the Infernal leaders, Zsarachnor and Pazuzu. He was summarily 'acquired', a necromancy-loathing weapon to be turned against the rebelling thralls, and thus preventing his specialist knowledge from being used against the legions.

Intractable, at best, Glaaki was deemed too difficult to be of use, too dangerous to release, and too powerful to kill. The combined efforts of Pazuzu and Slith imprisoned the Chaos Lord betwixt time and realm.

A multitude of centuries were to pass before life animated Glaaki once more; it was not his brethren of the Court who accorded a rescue, but a small group of Occultists. For centuries since, the Chaos Lord Glaaki has been a guest of Achaea's most guarded House.

Jy'Barrak Golgotha has ever trusted none bar himself. Great power causes sleepless nights and draws jealous attention, and the Emperor of Chaos keeps a watchful eye upon all who might prove a challenge. Centuries of respect counted for naught when a whisper of a long-dismissed name reached the Emperor's ear. Glaaki, harboured by the Bastion? All his grace and assistance disregarded...

Employing whispered words and symbolic gifts, Glaaki and his associates assured the Lords of the Court that should the suspicious eye of their liege begin to roll with madness, that they would have support, that there would be another way.

Find out Golgotha did.

This day, six hundred and ninety-one years after the fall of the Seleucarian Empire, the Infernal Throne remains occupied, but the Chaos Court it oversees is empty. Exiled, the Lords reside now within the Bastion, the Zarathustran Eagle has been bested by the Spawn of the Unnamable Horror, and the city now stands in defence, besieged by forces mustered by a jealous and vengeful Emperor.

Summary: In a fit of paranoid rage spawned by a fear of Glaaki's power and influence, Golgotha, the Emperor of Chaos, has exiled the Chaos Lords and now lays siege to Ashtan.
