The Aurora Supernalis

As the dark cover of night stole over the continent of Sapience on the
third of Ero, 547 AF, the skies were illuminated by a golden veil of
shifting light: the aurora supernalis. Heralding a time of great
fortune, this phenomenon was last seen during the year 172. Precisely
thirteen cycles of the Dance of the Vault have passed since that year,
the beginning of the modern age in Achaea, and as both Gods and mortals
celebrated the occasion, their actions were doubly favoured by the good
omen of the aurora.

Egghunts and quizzes, riddles and rampages were held during the four
months that the aurora crowned the night sky. The popular merchants of
the Itinerant Bazaar capitalised on the fortuitous occasion to bring
their exotic wares to eager buyers. Even the magnanimous dwarf Ironbeard
made his way among mortals, delivering gifts of gold, herbs, and
artefacts in celebration. And as fireworks lit the heavens at the close
of the festivities, the aurora waned and faded, its next appearance a
mystery to astronomers.

Penned by My hand on the 25th of Phaestian, in the year 547 AF.
