Trapped for decades within the clutches of Slith, Lady Sol languished
far out of reach, a portion of her essence binding her to the control of
the undead prince on an unknown plane. But all was not lost. Before the
manipulations of Slith caused her to depart the prime material plane, a
portent had caused Mithraea to willingly part with another portion of
Her divine essence, disguising it in a hidden form as a safeguard. It
was this precaution that ultimately would frustrate Slith's efforts to
fully control the goddess, and though he searched high and low through
the years, the location of this hidden essence remained a mystery. This
essence was the child named Marisol, who was placed in the care of the
Abbess of the secluded New Hope monastery.

With the recent return of Agatheis and the abrupt disappearance of
Marisol, hopes were high for news of Mithraea. But the Elemental Lord
remained silent, revealing no clues to the fate of neither child nor
goddess, nor what his hand in the departure of Marisol implied.

On the 23rd of Ero, 447 AF, the faithful were rewarded at long last. A
ball of light shot out from the sun, followed by seven others in rapid
succession. Converging into an eight-pointed star in the skies above
Sapience, the divine symbol of the Lady Sol began to hurtle towards
Hesperia, gaining speed and declining in size before coalescing into the
fire-wreathed form of Mithraea, Goddess of the Sun. She Herself exploded
in a cascade of light, leaving only the impression of a pair of
flickering, leonine eyes spanning the firmament.

Although the precise details of the Lady Sol's liberation remain
unknown, it cannot be debated that a spiritual darkness has lifted from
Sapience in the wake of the Sun Goddess's return. Welcome back,
Mithraea!

Penned by my hand on the 15th of Valnuary, in the year 448 AF.
