Ominous smoke rose above the mid-autumn Aalen forest as screams filled
the air. Adventurers rushed to find the mangled corpses of the tsol'aa
littering the ground beneath their trees. They found only one alive, one
whose face had not before been seen in the village. The tsol'aa
Tyrandiel, called wise, was distraught, her bloodstained hands clutching
at a weathered staff. Bambi, Delphinus, Carmell, Nomura, Crunk, Ravien,
Iaurodur, Vedam, and others coaxed from Tyrandiel the story of what had
transpired.

Tyrandiel was a wandering tsol'aa scholar, always in pursuit of
knowledge. Her most recent studies had found her in the great library in
Azdun, where she enjoyed many a scholastic discussion with the ghost
Candlemas, last of the Lorewardens. Candlemas mentioned casually in the
course of one such discussion a staff that held the key to the knowledge
of the Lorewardens. Tyrandiel coveted this Staff of the Lorewardens
beyond reason and contrived to steal it. When she made off with the
staff, Candlemas smote her with a curse. No sooner had she returned to
her ancestral home in the Aalen than the curse took hold of her and
caused her to wreck havoc on her kin, slaughtering them and burning
their homes. She came to her senses too late to save any of the tsol'aa.

Wracked with grief, Tyrandiel relayed her story to those present and
pled with them to help her remove the curse before it overcame her
again. In searching for one with the power to heal the curse, Carmell
lead the party to Marhisa, the Priestess of Virtue. The curse was beyond
Marhisa's capabilities, but she directed them to A'dene, Priestess of
the Holy Three in Aran'riod. And so the party led Tyrandiel to A'dene to
lift the curse.

The efforts were a success, and Tyrandiel travelled next with Delphinus
and the others to return the staff to Candlemas and beg his forgiveness.
Once the Staff of the Lorewardens was returned to its rightful place,
Tyrandiel decided to find a quiet place where she could continue her
studies and settle in to teaching others in hopes of repaying the debt
she had incurred. Delphinus suggested the Lucretian Athenaeum in New
Thera, and he led the party there to introduce Tyrandiel to Nissa, the
Head Archivist and entreat with her for a place to study and teach.

And so it is that Tyrandiel now resides in New Thera, offering to share
her knowledge with all who wish to learn.

Penned by my hand on the 10th of Chronos, in the year 404 AF.
