the Sentinels

Vixen, the Wilderness Guide, who also serves as the Sentinel's tutor, had become ill. Over the course of a month, her illness grew steadily worse and she began to have feverish dreams of death and the forests decaying around her. Finally, in a fit of feverish insanity, she began to wander the forest.

Unbeknownst to the concerned Sentinels guild, Titania, the Dryad Queen, had been watching over her Mother's temple and saw the cause of Vixen's illness. Apparently the years poor Vixen stood in the Shrine of Death caused a terrible sickness to nature itself. Titania guided Vixen to the forest of the Eastern Ithmia, where she summoned her to her side to be looked after.

When the rest of the sentinels found their way into the Garden of the Dryads, they learned from Titania that there was a way to cure Vixen, but that it involved an enormous amount of forestal energy. The terrified Sentinels listened on as Titania explained that they would have to sacrifice their groves through the use of the dreaded grove ability Annihilation. Time being of the utmost importance, Oswald, Kolieer, Ishiva, and Aslan all prepared to use the dreaded power, while the remaining Sentinels channeled their grove energy to them. The four destroyed their own groves, and Titania focused the energy to heal vixen. After the smoke cleared, the guild as a whole found that their skill of groves had been lost! By sacrificing their Groves to save their guild tutor, the forest had rejected them as caretakers.

Upon returning to the Drayd Queen, the guild found Vixen alive and well. The cure had worked! Titania immediately sent them on another errand, to find a lost item of hers. When it was found, she showed the guild the way to the lost village of Eleusis, hidden deep within the Eastern Ithmia. Preserved by the forest which they had protected for so long, the Sentinels found the buildings much to their liking and claimed one as their new guild hall.

Vixen then began a journey to the village of Tomacula to visit an old friend of hers, Etarni, the hunter of the Tomaculan people. She promised Covenant, the guildmaster of the Sentinels that in just over a month, she would have a present for him and his whole guild.

Penned by my hand on the 9th of Scarlatan, in the year 271 AF.
