Though I am not in the habit of justifying my decisions, I feel that since
Morpheus was a friend of some of yours, I owed it to you to explain why
you will not be seeing him here anymore.
Morpheus has, since the first week he started playing, taken up more
of the administration's time than 90% of players combined. He whines more,
he complains more, he cheats more, and he generally shows a complete
lack of respect for a currently _free_ service.
While I never like being moaned or whined at, I understand that
you guys get into the game and get an emotional attachment of sorts
to your character, and often moaning is just a release. In Morpheus'
case, however, it was a lifestyle.
I have, in the past, warned Morpheus at least 20 seperate times
about being afk. Myself, Daedalus, and Phaestus have all zapped
him for doing it excessively (he has logged 65 days of play-time
and is not even one of the older players) and I have even taken
away part of one of his skills as punishment. Yet, he still insists
on doing it.
Tonight, he was afk again. This is after I actually gave him back
the skill points I took away from him two days ago for being afk
(he sounded sincere in his confusion as to how it happened, so I
took pity). This was essentially the last straw. I didn't bother to
punish him. Instead, I simply told myself that next time he pisses me off
or wastes any more of my time, he will no longer be welcome here.
Lo and behold, not a couple hours later, after I had spent the full
day putting in the mobiles for Aalen, making them all talk, making
up and hooking up 30 Vashnar mountain locations to connect the
Aalen to the rest of the game, I installed all this work. Within
an hour and a half, Morpheus was _already_ bitching about something.
He felt the bears were too hard (they are a little harder than the
mhun captain...bears ARE quite hard after all). In his words, he
felt he should get about half a level for killing one bear.
I then pointed out that since he cheated much of his xp (he did, we logged
him bragging to other players about it and saying "the gods don't know")
he shouldn't mind having difficulty getting it back. In any case, he
got lippy, and I told him I honestly did not care if he comes back or not.
He indicated that he was not coming back, and now I have deleted his
character.
To those of you who liked him: I'm sorry to have to do that, but
he was simply taking up too much of our time with his exceptionally
childish behavior.
Penned by my hand on the 25th of Aeguary, in the year 191 AF.
