Emoting on channels

Apparently there has been some confusion regarding policy on this, and
I've been asked to clarify for consistency's sake. The official word is:
please do not use emotes/emoticons on channels, whether it's just
"<cough>" or "*romps around and pounces playfully on Blujixapug*". This
also applies to emoticons such as 😉 and ^_^. Such internet-isms are
considered OOC devices that deteriorate the IC atmosphere of the
channels. You may have your rolepoints reduced slightly if you use them,
though not a significant amount. I've heard an argument for allowing
audible emotes (like *laugh*) because telepathic channels "are audible",
but in the end, it is simpler to allow none at all. HELP CHANNELS and
HELP OOC have been updated.
