Lodi/Minia expansion

As I announced the other day, we expanded Minia. We've also expanded
Lodi, and are going to be adding another expansion to Minia. I'm going
to post a summary of the changes here. Normally we'd never do this, of
course, but because they are strictly newbie areas I think it's ok.
People need to know what's in there to help newbies.
---------------------------------------
An expansion to Lodi is in! A further expansion to Minia (Miba and Ember
Tower) will also be in later today.
What you will first need to know is: 1) There are now twin dragons who
act as gateways for newbies between Minia and Lodi to encourage newbies
to make use of both the newbie areas, even after their ability to
PORTALS is gone. Newbies can SAY (not TELL!) "Take me to Minia please"
to Poraeus or "Take me to Lodi please" to Auma to be transported.
Auma, the female dragon, is at "Well-worn path" NE from the archway to
Minia (to keep older players from using newbies to follow through the
gateway.) Poraeus, the male dragon, is at "Narrow entrance to the valley
of Lodi". They are invincible. The newbie helps will likely be updated
soon regarding these.
The second thing you need to know is that Blaan no longer takes wildcat
corpses. Some of the wildcats have evolved and gone sentient, and now
all wildcat corpses, sentient or not, are taken by Constable Beck in
Gorshire.
NEW ROOMS:
LODI
- Two farms and a silo in northeast Lodi. There is also a fishing pond
up there, with a fisherman who sells bait and tackle.
- Wildcat lair is deep in the cave.
- Five new rooms have been added to the mine, along with more bats for
bashing. Located off of the north and south exits off the main junction.
MINIA
- Pygmy guard barracks in SE Miba, and a short path leading to a prison
door in NW Miba.
- Near the pygmy guard barracks is a seamstress's hut.
- 7 more rooms in the Ember Tower, including a hellcat pen with a
hellcat trainer.
NEW DENIZENS AND QUESTS:
In the Lodi farms:
Thraigh Brother of Arane. He's a rather successful farmer, but hates
the gophers that currently infest his property. There currently is no
quest associated with him, but perhaps in the future.
Shais Married to Arane. A hardworking man, but he is upset about his
son being so lazy. Currently no quest, but possibly in the future.
Breit Son of Shais. He is lazy, and doesn't want to weed his father's
garden as he's supposed to. If you do it for him, and bring him the
weeds, he will reward with gold and xp. (Note: they have to use the PULL
WEED command on the weed in the garden to get it. GET WEED will not
work. There is only 1 clump of weed per reset.)
Arane Wife of Shais. You can get a bag of gold from her saying QUEST
or using the word DRESS in a say then doing AGREE ARANE. Take the bag to
Sinoi in Gorshire, give it to her for a dress, bring it back to Arane
for gold and xp.
Verld Fisherman of Lodi. He is the shop owner of the bait shop in
Lodi. He is invincible.
In Lodi wildcats' lair:
Wildcat soldiers and servants An advanced form of wildcats, these have
evolved to speak and have a crude culture. They are at war with the
residents of Gorshire.
Scylina Queen of the evolved wildcats. She is the head of the war
effort against Gorshire, and will pay for their corpses.
In Miba Village:
A fat guard in the pygmy barracks carries a key. By killing him,
retrieving the key, and using the key to enter the locked prison in the
NW area of Miba, you can free a kobold slave and earn xp.
Asheara, the pygmy seamstress, will pay gold for hellcats to skin and
make clothing out of.
In the Ember Tower:
Ord, the hellcat trainer.
New female imp archers.
New imp servants.
New imp captains who are slightly higher level than other imps, though
lower than the Imp Lord.
No new quests except the one with the squirrel tamer that's already in.
MISCELLANEOUS
- Don't be surprised if the newbies mention the first Logosian decree,
as it is now posted on a sign near the sheep.
- Nearly all the denizens now have new attack messages that are
customized to their personalities.
- The layout of the wildcat cave has been changed around to accommodate
the new evolved wildcats.
Penned by my hand on the 19th of Valnuary, in the year 367 AF.
