Darkness, Evil, Chaos

Dear Shakti,

One thing you have to understand about Shallam and the Church is that we don't have very many followers of the above detailed living within the city. You followers of Twilight, Sartan and Eris all have developed very specific definitions of what Darkness, Evil and Chaos mean. They are all different to you, even if they are sometimes allied with each other.
We don't follow your gods, or I don't at least. The Death's Heart incident proved that Twilight was perfectly willing to sacrifice all of his followers as well as everything else in Sapience for his own benefit, and that seems evil to us. Granted, Sartan was not very involved in it, and he is the god of evil. What I am saying is, to us, Darkness, Evil and Chaos all mean basically the same thing. It can be summed up in one word: BAD.
I don't want to follow a God who will sacrifice me to his own cause without a second thought, who knows how their minds work maybe with no thought at all just as a reflex. I don't want to follow a Goddess whose minions cannibalise each other and life in a region sealed off by the Logos himself. I don't want to follow a God who expects me to sacrifice my wife and children to him, and enjoy it as much as he does.
I may be nothing but an insect to them, hell I'm a Horkval, but as long as I have a choice I will follow the good things in life (Justice and Light), and I don't want a shrine with an aura painfull to me in the city's wedding chamber. Shallam is Aurora and Miramar's city, not Sartan's. The Church has no shrines in Ashtan or Hashan, and whenever one is placed the people of the city throw a major fit. But when Sartan places a shrine that he expects us to sacrifice our family too, and he places that shrine in the Basilica's wedding Chamber, then I want it removed, plain and simple. I don't care if it's dark or chaotic or evil in the specific sense, it's bad, and I want to get rid of it.

Hope you caught all of that, and thanks for reading.
Alex
