Ascension

Would you please be so kind and explain to me the yearning that mortals have for ascension to the heavens. I do not want to scald your dreams but I do not believe, if you did ascend, they would receive you with open arms into their heavenly garden.

We all dream of greatness and how we wish to achieve it. But that is the extent of it all, we only wish. It will take a rare mortal marked by the blessing of Sarapis to be granted such a divine reward. Only a select few citizens of our world seem to realize this. The other gods know this also and do not wish for another to rise in power and upset their tenuous balance in the gardens.

Some wish for you to believe it is Us against Them, Light against Dark. That is the ultimate ruse and grand deception played by a master of the game and we mortals are the pawns. The gods do not want mortals to rise in power so they distract us, covering our eyes from the truth. They whisper words of deceit that we all to often believe, deafening us from the truth. We are pitted against ourselves, to weaken ourselves. It must stop. It will stop.

To all I must state that the Truth, as filtered as it may be, burns brightly, but only to those whose vision is not manipulated.

Jinkar, are you sure you wish to play a game with no rules against the very beings that created it? A game that you are fated to lose in the end?

Copernicus, the patient one

Penned by my hand on the 6th of Miraman, in the year 248 AF.
