I recomend everyone read help 12.26 where it explicitly says the gods "look with extreme disfavour upon those who use this hallowed tree as a refuge". It's not the fact that this is dishonorable that makes it bad. It's the fact it displeases the mighty gods themselves. Thus hiding at the tree is a much lower level than most other forms dishonorable fighting tactics. So unless you want to gamble the wrath of the gods, don't do this.
