Would you look at that, two former Seneschals asking for Wellspring access in the same month.
You both know well enough what you once had. You both stood within the Court, entrusted not only with its knowledge but with the responsibility that came with it. You were granted access to the Wellspring because you were part of the structure that protects it, contributes to it and advances the work that flows from it. That was not an accident, nor was it a casual privilege. It was the result of standing, duty and trust.
Yet you both chose to leave that behind.
Whatever you are now, whatever you once were, and whatever story you tell yourselves to make that decision easier to carry, the simple truth remains the same. The Court of Shadows does not grant access to its resources out of nostalgia, nor sentiment, nor combative bravado.
Nor is Hashan unique in this regard. No City state simply opens its vaults to those who have walked away from it, or those that seek to harm it. Resources are protected because they belong to the people and institutions that sustain them. The Wellspring is no different.
You both understood this perfectly well when you held the office of Seneschal. It is curious that the principle should suddenly seem confusing now that you stand on the other side of it.
