A futile endeavour

So,
The response to the conquest of the Aalen is met with outrage. How puzzling. It is not the first, nor will it be the last denizen village to fall under eidolic influence. What makes this different? The 'oath' mentioned has been cleared up by none other than the one who spoke it, so that cannot be it. Is it then because a denizen leader speaks up? Will Targossas relinquish New Thera when the mayor speaks up, then? Eleusis has already stated their answer: simply do not acknowledge the autonomy of those who do not follow your ways, then feed the populace to your ravenous swarm.
But is it not odd what tone good King Tu'eras uses? Emotional, offended. Wronged. Certainly understandable for one who received an oath that was then broken without warning. But now it turns out there never was an oath, simply one man's promise. He continues to speak out of frustration, anger and betrayal on the public boards. A reaction that, when voiced in such a public manner, would push most recipients into stubbornly digging in their heels. Petty, perhaps, but of such common mortal nature that it is a rare exception who can truthfully claim they would act any different. And then he stokes outrage and distrust. Insulting the Chancellor, rather than reaching out. Ignoring and turning away Cyrenians who approach him.
But King Tu'eras is certainly no fool. He is the shrewdest voice on these boards, succesfully stoking outrage in the world against his occupiers, and sowing seeds of distrust and dissent in Cyrene itself. Certainly with a good degree of success. I can respect it, as this is his way of fighting for his people's freedom. But forgive me for tearing off the mask, as it is getting rather dull to hear the same things over and over again from the gullible, the hypocritical and those with such obvious political motives that only the blind could miss it.
The politicians of the world will engage as they must, but for the rest of you:
Was it at least cathartic to be given an excuse to vent your enmity and self-righteous ideals, even at the seemingly affordable cost of looking like a gullible fool? If you insist on acting like clowns, I pray you take a lesson from my Lady's mimes. Act, and speak less.
