To Grakhir:
That your "over-riding thought" was to tell people to "suck it" speaks volumes of the quality of representation Cyrene now enjoys. If this is the example you set forth to make of the so-called God-Emperor's supremacy, then the legacy you carve in His name is one of deceit, disrespect, and derision. You have left no doubt in your wake that your Empire is one of shallow mockery and callous bloodlust.
Any entity that does not wish to be compared to its own past should act, in the present, in a manner that does not draw criticism, but it stands to reason that the Cyrene of the present is thus spoken for by someone without such reason or integrity.
Your rhetorical question hardly deserves addressing, because it is as disingenuous as the rest of your missive, whose entire message boils down to "join us or die". Nevertheless, I will put this in terms that are easy for you to understand: Milabar was addressed in the capacity of his recognised leadership position as Chancellor of the Imperial Reaches because he spoke in his capacity as Chancellor of the Imperial Reaches. Whether or not he is an apt leader in such capacity, however, is by no means beyond inquiry.
Nor does this, by virtue of title alone, earn him the "humility and clarity" that you seem to expect of one who has "bowed before the waves." Again, in a display of disingenuity (or at the very least, irrationality), it appears you would attribute expectations of humility and clarity of people who have either--let me check my notes--bowed before the waves OR "sucked it". As someone who has done both, you must acknowledge it is confusing that you lack either.
To Crixos:
I would respond to you in greater detail if you did not present a scornful attempt to stand on integrity whilst in the same post lying through your teeth about Cyrene honouring treaties and keeping its word when it has, very evidently and publicly, done the exact opposite of those things. In fact, this is the exact thing that has been in discussion over the last many public news posts. Keep up. Then again, I suppose keeping up was never your intention, when you started painting stunning lies in patriotic colours.
I only agree with one thing you've said. You do know who you are.
You just hate it when others point it out.
Cyrene is not defined by the will of its citizens, but by their actions. Your -will- is to be praised and allowed to perpetuate your bloody conquest without criticism. But your actions are to spit in the face of anyone with an differing opinion and whinge when a mirror is held up to you, because you know who you are.
It seems the new Cyrene's modus operandi is now, "If you cannot be good, right, or just, then at least be powerful."
Shameful.
