Alliances are not so fragile

To all who may read these words,

We, the elders of Tasur'ke, find it insulting to suggest we would throw away centuries of alliance over a single misstep. Hashan has stood with our humble village through thick and thin, and our relationship extends beyond just physical proximity. We have shared ideals, Divine, and struggles, and we are not so quick to forget as those who blatantly wish to use us as political pawns may hope.

Shame on you.

On the other hand, we are our own, independent settlement. We are bound to disagree sometimes even with our allies. This does not mean we are eager to abandon them, but neither does it mean that we will hold our lips pursed in subservient silence. So we present these requests to our noble allies:

I.

Do not seek the annexation of Tasur'ke and do not treat it as a territory for you to rule over. You are welcome within our gates, your warriors are respected for their protection, but you do not write our laws nor do you decide who may or may not enter our village.

II.

We are, and have been for many centuries, a village with deep ties to the Moon. It upsets our villagers greatly to see our stalwart allies not only distance themselves from Her, but also to actively push away and insult Her. We ask that amends be made as an urgent matter.

III.

We remain neutral on the matter of Hashani royalty. We will not abide either side of this debate to use us for political gain, nor will we suggest who should rightfully rule Hashan. With that said,

IV.

As the wealthier of our settlements, we would ask Hashan to take the initiative in tending to our shared borders. Our village is eager to assist, to work with you, but it should not fall to strangers to handle these matters even if their claims to rule were proven and accepted unanimously.

Speaking for Tasur'ke,
Girrald, village elder.
