Logical Puzzle

Hi All
This is a little puzzle for you and it's open to everyone including
the Gods....

Oh yes it's totally unrelated to Achaea, but I thought it may be alittle
fun...

You are caretaker in a building and you are led to a plain room which
contains nothing of any note other then THREE LIGHT SWITCHES on the wall.
You are told that all the switches are in the OFF position and that one of
these switches controls the bulb in the room next door.
(The other two switches control other things that you can't see or hear
and are irrelevent to this problem).
You are told that you can go into the room next door ONLY ONCE to check on
the bulb. Your room and the next door room have no windows or other ways
to see into them other than by physically entering them through their
doors.
Your mission is to determine

WHICH SWITCH CONTROLS THE BULB IN THE ROOM NEXT DOOR ?

Remember, you can only enter the other room once to check on the bulb.
The bulb and switches are completely ordinary and you will need no props
other than your fingers and eyes and naturally your brain, to solve the
problem.

(No you can't leave the door open and you can only switch on one at a time)

Cheers
