Oath Breaker's Fate

For those interested in such events, it may be of historical interest to note that the legacy of the Oath Breaker, once known as Gaia, the Earthmother, continues forth to this day. As was made clear before (see historical news post 1479), the Oath Breaker dissolved the Oath of Reconciliation that bound the gods from using divine powers against one another. This led to the Nature Wars and the imprisoning of the Oath Breaker by the powers of Darkness, Light, Chaos and Peace.

What perhaps may not be of common knowledge was the debate in the Garden where we discussed the fate of the Oath Breaker. Some advocated the complete annihilation as the Oath Breaker. After all, the Oath Breaker obviously harbored such intent toward one of our number. However, it was ultimately decided that we would allow nature's realm to continue in captivity. It ought to please you mortals that part of this decision was based on the sentimentality some of our number felt at the strength of loyalty of the Oath Breaker's misguided followers and the despair that would be caused by her annihilation.

For myself, I was content to agree to hold off the destruction of the Oath Breaker, in part to humour the mortals who were so devoted to her. But I knew of the innate fickleness of mortals and simply waited for the inevitable transient loyalties of the Oath Breaker to dissolve through the passage fo time. After all, what is time to one such as myself? Even so, I was rather surprised at how quickly the Oath Breaker's allegedly most loyal began to forsake her, culminating to the point where the Guildmaster of the Sentinels led his entire guild to forsake her.

When Twilight, who was most aggrieved by the Oath Breaker, expressed an interest in finally destroying the Oath Breaker and engulfing the realm of nature into darkness, I decided to lend my support to the Dark Lord. Thus, I gave Him power over the bond that I created to hold the Oath Breaker. With the bonds of Darkness and Chaos, Twilight now finally brings final justice to the Oath Breaker, who's spirit slowly drains into the realm of Darkness. It is simply a matter of time before her final essence is dissolved into nothingness.

I bring you this news for historical reference only, as I am sure there are few left who actually care what happens to the Oath Breaker, once known as Gaia, the Earthmother. For those very few who are still incomprehensibly loyal to her, I offer my condolences. But chin up! Your mortal lives go on, even as you enter these Twilight times.
