The Fall of the Kharon

As many of you might know, the Kharon and the City of Ashtan have been at war. How did this war come to pass? Because the Kharon were angered that many of their members were cast out of Ashtan. Why were they cast out? Because they were killing their fellow citizens.

The Kharon, in a petty fit of vengeance, began a bloody campaign against Ashtan. They attacked not only those who might be considered their peers, but also slaughtering those young and innocent citizens of Ashtan who just barely arrived from Loom Island.

Yes, their bloody reign was effective. Yes, they even killed several of the Archon leaders. And, yes, they drove hordes of young citizens from Ashtan into hiding. They were, indeed, successful bullies.

But for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. The Kharon bloodbath did not occur in a vacuum but was witnessed by all of Achaea. The result was a rare event indeed, an event that those who witnessed all agree filled their hearts with awe. Shallam and Ashtan united, occultists and priests set aside their philosophical differences, and templars and shadowsnakes boldly clasped hands. Not only were the cities united, but many courageous druids came from their forestal homes to join in the crusade to stop the madness, the madness named Kharon.

As Eris, Goddess of Chaos, noted, it was an ironic twist indeed that the empire the Kharon wished to create ended up being an empire of their enemies who rose up together against them.

I personally wish to thank you all for showing everyone in Achaea that differences can and shall be set aside to stop the Kharon from their bloody slaughter. May this event be recorded in the history books so all can read and learn.
