Another threshold crossed

Six years ago, the great storms of my life
Collided with unbridled fury and destruction
Emotion's toll, within deceit and strife
Had torn apart my logical deduction

But now, a lingering calm lies all around
And quiet voices in my mind do warn
That I survived the dangers which abound
And found haven in the great eye of the storm

With calm, my reason now returned, unnoticed
With reason, strength I thought I'd lost
I am no longer someone's gentle locust,
Nor am I deepest winter's frost

I found the balance there, between
A symphony and then a shepherd's tune
I started where dark Occult begins
And came to Kabbalistic runes

I stepped across the threshold bare
And heard the cackling of the crow
A lark's sweet song then sung its prayer
For as above, so is below

And then I knew the hidden truth
Behind the many actions taken
In ardent vigour of my youth
Which were my foundation's making

For in the calm eye of the storm
You'll step over that threshhold clear
And will no longer hurt or cry
For all behind you once held dear

When it was I who drew first blood
When it was I who slammed the door
Without sadness I now end emotion's flood
I'll think of what is gone no more

So many thresholds, left behind in life
Some glow with happiness, and some with sadness
Through form, and conscience, and strife
I walk away from youthful madness.

Except some nights, the wind's cool touch
Caresses me with memories of roses in the spring
And memory's biteersweetness will become too much...
And smiles and tears forgotten to my eyes will bring...

Penned by my hand on the 25th of Lupar, in the year 290 AF.
