Patience of the forgotten

Pride stood guard where silence grew,
Convincing me that I already knew.
Yet weary minds are slow to mend,
Until they learn that strength can bend.

Then came a season hushed and long,
Where silent hope outlived the wrong.
Dormancy turned another page,
Softening grief, but not its cage.

The words once confessed found no home,
So I resigned my fate to roam.
Yet through the years, close but apart, one truth remained:
Your illumination, if anything, had only in brilliance gained.

The stormy weather passed; untarnished skies drew near.
It taught me what was always clear.
Though once denied, I knew I belonged with you, free;
And finally, in my hands, we'll become the best we can be.

Penned by my hand on the 9th of Daedalan, in the year 1011 AF.
