the invisible thread

{The enigma surrounding you is no lie,
For normal babes have at least one cry.
Your eyes,
Wise beyond their years,
Hold the promise of many shed tears.
They promise safety,
All those who keep you in the east.
But deep down, they are working to raise a destroyer, an untethered beast.
The world is a dangerous place...
This is an indisputable fact.
All of us ponder your adulthood, when the time comes for you to act.
Those who pull you away from home have no intentions of leaving so much as a mark.
We'd just rather you not experience everything in a perspective so dark.
The sky is the limit, where the greatest mortals often soar,
Yet they would keep you behind a closed door.
What folly is there in exploration,
To bask in the sun or cold,
To experience the world as is, not as you were told.
That potential you hold shall one day come forth.
But maybe it should be elsewhere, why not, here, far to the north?
Whatever might happen may leave us rejoicing or dead.
This leaves us to wonder, what those scholars of Vaelithar did see beyond that invisible thread.
